Backyard debris can be easy to photograph but harder to reach. Describe the material and the access route together, especially when the yard is behind a house or through a narrow side passage.
Describe what is in the pile
- Branches and brush, including the longest or heaviest pieces.
- Leaves, grass clippings, and plant trimmings, loose or bagged.
- Soil, rocks, or large stumps listed separately for confirmation.
- Outdoor furniture or fencing kept separate from green waste.
Show the size and the access
Estimate each pile’s length, width, and height, and take photos from more than one angle. Note whether the material is wet, mixed with other debris, or scattered around the property.
Describe gate width, steps, side passages, and the distance to the street. Ask about accepted materials and preparation before bagging or bundling. Do not assume a pickup includes cutting branches, removing standing trees, or digging out roots.
Before you arrange pickup
Should branches be cut to a certain length?
Confirm the provider’s preparation requirements first. Include the current lengths in your request rather than making assumptions about what will fit.
Can soil and rocks go with branches?
List them separately. Dense materials change the job’s weight and handling, so acceptance needs to be confirmed.
What if the yard has no direct street access?
Explain the full route, including any indoor passage or shared entrance. The provider needs that information to assess access before scheduling.
